How to access Standard First Aid Blended Course?2021-05-09T21:58:08-04:00

The Standard First Aid CPR Blended course is a comprehensive two-day course offering includes First Aid, CPR and AED training for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Blended learning is a combination of in-class, face-to-face instruction with online instruction. The blended course is available through Canadian Red Cross.

Please see the instructions below to access the standard first aid cpr blended course:

1) After registering for the online blended standard first aid course, you will receive an email with instructions to access the course. Please make sure to check your spam/junk email folders.

2) Access the email and click to register and create your ‘My Red Cross Account’ – See image below

3) After clicking the link, you will re-directed to Red Cross login page and you will need to Click ‘Sign Up’. Avoid registering through the social links.

4) Enter your details below such as email address and password. Please ensure you are following password requirements outlined by Canadian Red Cross.

5) After loggining in, you will be asked to verify your contact information and click ‘Update’. You will be prompted to ‘My Course’ page shown below. Please click ‘your online training’ to access your standard first aid blended course.

6) You will be re-directed to the LMS portal, Please activate the Standard First Aid & CPR blended course to start.

7) You will be prompted to the standard first aid and cpr online portal as shown below. You will need to complete all modules prior to coming to the in-class component of the standard first and cpr course.

Can you take CPR Training Online?

The short answer is Yes, you can take cpr training courses online. The Canadian Red Cross and Heart and Stroke Foundation offer online blended courses which combines online learning and in-classroom training to offer a comprehensive experience. The courses covers the same course curriculum and teaches the same skills as an instructor-led course, but divides the delivery of the online and inclass component.

We advise students to be careful when signing up for free cpr courses online. These courses are not suitable for workplace or school requirements as it does not provide hands-on skill component. Courses that are offered entirely online, do not include the opportunity for you to demonstrate skill proficiency to a certified instructor.

What CPR courses are offered online?

Please see list of online blended courses offered through Canadian Red Cross and Heart and Stroke Foundation. If you have specific questions about your workplace or school requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

You will see lot of advertising for cpr online training for $14.99, the chances of them being valid in Canada are very low. CPR Training requires tremendous amount of learning and hands-on practice. It is a life-skill and should be a considered as long term investment.

Blended Standard First Aid and CPR

Standard First Aid and CPR online blended learning course is now available through Canadian Red Cross. Blended learning is a comprehensive training method that combines online multimedia instruction with instructor-led and hands-on in-class training. The successful completion of the blended learning Standard First Aid course is a three-step process.

  1. Complete Standard First Aid CPR online theory component
    The blended learning Standard First Aid course allows students to access audio and text instruction as well as instructional videos and quizzes. A passing mark of 80% is the requirement to proceed to each successive module.
  2. Attend in-person training at Brampton First Aid CPR
    After completing the online course, students are required to attend the in-class portion of the course. This is delivered by an certified Red Cross instructor and the focus is on the practical application of the course content. Students will be requested to show their certification of completion before starting the in-person training
  3.  Complete the in-class exam
    Upon the successful completion of the in-class training, student write the government approved Standard First Aid test. Students must successfully pass the skills and test in order to receive their certification

BLS Course Online

Heart and Stroke Foundation now offers BLS Course online through their online blended learning model. Blended learning combines online learning and in-classroom training to offer a comprehensive experience. The course covers the same course curriculum and teaches the same skills as an instructor-led course. There are 3 options in completing your BLS Course online:

  1. BLS Blended 120*
    Length: ~2 Hours (in-class)
  2. BLS Blended 90*
    Length of time: ~1.5 hours (in-class)
  3. BLS Blended 60
    Length of time: ~1 hour (in-class)

*Heart & Stroke recommends BLS Blended 120 or BLS Blended 90 for most learners.

Canadian Red Cross Certification

To Access Your Red Cross Digital Certificate:

  • If you received an e-mail from the Red Cross after your class, it includes a link to your digital certificate.
  • If you did not receive an email visit Canadian Red Cross website
  • After clicking the link, please click on the top right “Login”
  • You will need to supply your Email Address or First Name, Last Name, Year and Month (when class was held) or Certificate ID. If you forgot your password, please click on password reset
  • After you login, under profile please click “My certification”
  • From there you can print, download and share as needed.

Heart and Stroke Foundation Certification

To Access Your Heart and Stroke Foundation Digital Certificate:

  • If you received an e-mail from the Heart and Stroke Foundation after your class, it includes a link to access your digital certificate.
  • If you did not receive an email visit Heart and Stroke Training Portal
  • You will be asked to login with your email and password. If you forgot your password, please select password reset.
  • Log into your portal account. Click on “My certifications” to access your current, pending and expired certifications.

Students often wonder the cost of CPR training. At Brampton First Aid CPR,  we strive to provide affordable options. The overall cost of CPR training cost can vary greatly varies depending on the type of course needed. Basic CPR training course range from $35 to $50 in Brampton and Greater Toronto Area. However, most basic CPR training are valid for up to 1 Year and are required to be renewed every year. Whereas, comprehensive 2-day training such as Standard First Aid and CPR range from $95-130 and are valid for 3 years.

The 3 most requested CPR Training are: Standard First Aid & CPR, Basic Life Support and Emergency First Aid and CPR, for price details please see the chart below:

Brampton First Aid CPR aims to provide students with opportunity to practice hands-on skills and ask questions about basic first aid principles. To learn the proper method, it is best to seek the guidance from Red Cross or Heart and Stroke certified instructors.

The higher CPR training cost for those in health care is due to requirements for health-care providers and the varied CPR methods that are taught in class. We provide discount rate to our previous customers who need Basic Life Support (BLS) yearly and group discounts are also available. Baby CPR & First Aid Training Cost

Brampton First Aid CPR provides Basic Life Support training for patients, families, staff and the general public to increase awareness of early CPR. The training is focused on accident and injury prevention, first aid, choking and CPR techniques used on newborns, infants and young children.When you are expecting a baby, there can be a mixture of excitement and also a fear of the unknown. We can help build your confidence and ability to react to an unexpected emergency event.

Basic Baby CPR & First Aid training is conducted by Brampton First Aid CPR during the summer. The training cost of Basic Baby CPR & basic first aid is $40. To learn more information about our upcoming class, please contact us.

How long does a CPR Certificate Last?2020-01-16T13:57:04-05:00

CPR or Basic Life support (BLS) certificates usually expire after one year. The Canadian Red Cross and Heart and Stroke  Foundation recognize all CPR certificates as valid for up to one year from the course completion date or three years for first aid training. Although the Canadian Red Cross and Heart and Stroke Foundation has this national standard, some employers have different expiration periods for their CPR certificates. The expiration date is listed on the certificate and on an individual’s CPR card.

Standard First Aid & CPR Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home.

Red Cross Requirements:
Duration: Standard First Aid & CPR: 13–14 hours teaching time.
Blended Standard First Aid: 8 hours online learning, 5.5-7.5 hours teaching time

Heart and Stroke Standard First Aid Requirements:
Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (2-day): 16 Hours
